McEwen Elementary Library seeks to create a 21st century media environment that promotes and encourages equal learning for all students by providing access to information and data, teaching literacy and fluency skills, and encouraging the lifelong love of reading. The library promotes collaborative learning that produces necessary skills to be globally competitive through critical thinking skills, technology advancements, appreciation for written and digital literature, as well as respect for oneself and others.

The mission of the McEwen Elementary Library is to provide students with the opportunity to become creators of information, hands-on investigators, and promoters of ideas supported through technology, literature, and standards. The library will support the curriculum by collaborating with teachers and the community with a variety of media resources and print. The library will implement 21 century literacy instruction for all students.
